Volkswagen ID.7 GTX Released The Most Powerful Electric Vehicle

Last year, Volkswagen launched the ID.7, which is the sixth model of its ID series. Currently, the Volkswagen ID family also includes ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.6 and ID.Buzz.

In August last year after starting the reservation in Europe, Volkswagen said that the ID.7 provides two configurations, Pro and Pro S, and the starting price is 56,995 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about $65,000). The entry-level Pro model equipped with a 77 kWh battery can have a WLTP range of 499 miles.

Volkswagen said that Pro S will be launched a little later, equipped with a larger capacity battery and a longer range. At the same time, they also previewed the more sporty GTX version with dual-motor all-wheel drive.

Now Volkswagen has officially launched the ID.7 GTX, becoming the most powerful electric vehicle under its brand. This sporty electric hatchback has a maximum power of 335 horsepower (250 kilowatts) and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds.

The ID.7 GTX will start pre-sale in Germany on June 6, with a starting price of 63,155 euros (currently about $73,000). At the same time, the other three ID.7 models - ID.7 GTX Tourer, ID.7 Pro S and ID.7 Tourer Pro S will also start pre-sale on the same day.

The GTX Tourer also has all-wheel drive, while Pro S and Tourer Pro S use rear-wheel drive with a maximum power of 282 horsepower (210 kilowatts). All the new ID.7 models are equipped with a larger 86 kWh battery.

Thanks to the DC fast charging capacity of up to 200 kW, the ID.7 GTX can charge from 10% to 80% in 26 minutes.

In order to highlight the sporty atmosphere, Volkswagen also equips the ID.7 GTX with its latest IQ.Light LED matrix headlights. For the interior, the ID.7 GTX uses red stitching, the seat back is printed with GTX, and it is equipped with an exclusive GTX multi-function steering wheel. Other configurations include wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, augmented reality HUD, IDA voice assistant integrated with ChatGPT (AI/artificial intelligence), two-zone automatic air conditioning, keyless entry and anti-theft alarm system.

The new Pro S model equipped with a larger capacity 86 kWh battery has a WLTP range of up to 441 miles, while the range of ID.7 Tourer Pro S can reach 430 miles.
