Samsung Developing Multiple Form-Factor Products for Smartphones

TapTechNews August 27th news, on August 21st at the IMID2024 Expo held in South Korea, the head of Samsung's display department, ChungYi, gave a keynote speech titled 'The Eternal Evolution of Screens and Artificial Intelligence', confirming that the company is developing various forms of products to meet the needs of smartphones in the era of artificial intelligence.

ChungYi said in the speech: 'We are developing products of various shapes and sizes, such as dual-fold, multi-fold products and scroll products.'

Although he did not disclose the specific launch date in the speech, he emphasized that Samsung is actively exploring various device forms and will meet everyone as soon as possible.

Dual-fold: Can be folded in two directions, inward and outward.

Multi-fold: Exploring more folding designs in addition to the existing folding scheme.

Scroll: The screen can be stretched to expand the screen size.

Dual-fold + Scroll: Mixing the two plans to bring an innovative experience.

Previously, it was reported that the scrollable display demonstrated by Samsung Display may come out in 2025, but since the product has been in development for several years, it is still uncertain.
