China Mobile, CCTV Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement for 2024 Paris Olympics

On June 19th, TapTechNews reported that China Mobile and China Central Television (CCTV) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing yesterday. The two parties will conduct strategic cooperation in six aspects such as major event copyright, channel transmission landing, 5G+AI field, high-quality service supply, overseas business cooperation, and brand cooperation.

This cooperation involves copyright cooperation for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and China Mobile Migu becomes the rights-holding broadcaster for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Around the Paris Olympics, the two parties have also reached copyright cooperation in the public Internet and telecommunications operator fields, and will cooperate in many aspects such as live broadcasting of event programs, delayed broadcasting, video on demand, and short video copyright cooperation.

On April 17 this year, China Central Television released a copyright statement regarding the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to the agreement signed between China Central Television and the International Olympic Committee, CCTV has the exclusive all-media rights and sub-license rights in mainland China and the Macau region of China for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, TikTok and Kuaishou have also reached cooperation with CCTV and become the rights-holding broadcasters for the 2024 Paris Olympics. And TikTok is the first time to become a rights-holding broadcaster for the Olympics.
