China's June Auto Data Passenger Car and New Energy Vehicle Market Trends, Recalls, and Rankings
TapTechNews July 3rd news, according to the latest data released by the China Passenger Car Association today, preliminary statistics show that from June 1st to 30th, the retail sales of passenger cars were 1.755 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 8% and a month-on-month increase of 2%. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative retail sales have been 9.828 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3%. From June 1st to 30th, the wholesale of national passenger car manufacturers was 2.13 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5% and a month-on-month increase of 4%. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative wholesale was 11.714 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6%.
In terms of new energy vehicles, preliminary statistics show that from June 1st to 30th, the retail sales of new energy passenger cars were 864,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 30% and a month-on-month increase of 6%. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative retail sales have been 4.119 million units, a year-on-year increase of 33%. From June 1st to 30th, the new energy wholesale of national passenger car manufacturers was 975,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 28% and a month-on-month increase of 8%. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative wholesale was 4.612 million units, a year-on-year increase of 30%.
In terms of vehicle recalls, from January to June 2024, a cumulative 67 batches of 3.64 million units were recalled. The number of recalls increased by 66% year-on-year, and the overall situation has relatively returned to stability. Foreign-funded enterprises have more recall times, and the number of self-owned recalls is gradually increasing. The number of new energy vehicle recalls is gradually increasing. Except for the recall of 1.63 million units due to Tesla's energy recovery, the overall recall number is not large.
