Tesla Manufactures 3 Millionth Car, Expands Nevada Super Factory

TapTechNews May 19th news, the Tesla X platform account posted yesterday afternoon, claiming that the company has manufactured the 3 millionth car. The post also included a pair of photos, which showed that the 3 millionth electric car of Tesla is a Model S in dark blue appearance.

It is reported that Tesla mainly manufactures drive motors, powertrains and other equipment for cars at the Fremont Super Factory, and manufactures battery packs, body components, etc. at the Nevada Super Factory. Therefore, in the Tesla post, the relevant honors are shared by the two super factories. It is worth noting that the 2 millionth car milestone of Tesla in July 2022 is also owned by these two super factories.

The Tesla official website shows that the Fremont factory is one of the largest manufacturing bases in California, USA; and the Nevada Super Factory is said to be one of the highest-yielding electric vehicle, energy storage product, vehicle powertrain and battery factories in the world, producing billions of batteries every year.

Tesla is currently expanding the Nevada Super Factory to accommodate the production of its 4680 battery and the electric Semi. The company broke ground in January this year. With the final completion of the expansion, the factory is expected to add 6,500 full-time workers, manufacture enough 4680 batteries, and produce up to 2 million car units per year.

Earlier this year, Tesla also began to produce the new Model 3 Highland model (that is, the Model 3 refreshed version) at the Fremont Super Factory. The current price of this car in the US is $54,990 (TapTechNews note: currently about 398,000 yuan).
