Ant Group's Ant Digital Operates Independently, CEO Changed and Announces 2023 Sustainable Development Report

On June 13, TapTechNews reported that Sina Technology reported that Ant Group's scientific and technological commercialization unit, Ant Digital, has been operating independently. TapTechNews noticed that the operating entity of Ant Digital, Ant Chain (Shanghai) Digital Technology Co., Ltd., has completed a capital increase of 200 million yuan ($29 million) last month.

In March this year, Jing Xian-dong, chairman and CEO of Ant Group, released an all-staff letter announcing a new round of organizational structure upgrade. Jiang Guo-fei, the former president of Ant Group's Digital Technology Business Group, announced his resignation, and Zhao Wen-biao, a senior vice president of Ant Group and the former president of the Large Security Business Group, was appointed as the CEO of the independent Ant Digital.

Zhao Wen-biao once led the construction of Alpharisk and IMAGE, the world-leading intelligent risk control system of Alipay and Ant Group, and at the same time led the team to continuously tackle key technologies such as trusted AI and security large models.

Ant Group also released a sustainable development report for 2023 today. The report shows that in 2023, Ant Group's scientific research investment reached 21.19 billion yuan ($3.07 billion), hitting a new record high again. The focus of Ant's technological investment is artificial intelligence and data element technology.
