Google's Pixel 9 Series Adopts Samsung's Exynos Modem 5400 for Faster Speed

TapTechNews August 16th news, the tech media AndroidAuthority published a blog post yesterday (August 15th), confirming that Google's Pixel 9 series phones have adopted Samsung's Exynos Modem 5400 modem.

The media used the DeviceInfoHW app and found that the four models of Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are all equipped with the new Exynos 5400 modem.

The baseband shows the part number of g5400c, which corresponds to Exynos Modem 5400, while the part number of Google Pixel 7 Pro is g5300q, which corresponds to the earlier Exynos Modem 5300.

Compared to the Exynos Modem 5300 carried in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series, the Exynos Modem 5400 carried in the Pixel 9 series is faster and more efficient, and also supports satellite connection.

TapTechNews quoted the introduction on the official website of Samsung Semiconductor, Exynos Modem 5400 is based on 3GPP Release 17, providing a speed of up to 14.79 Gbps (10 Gbps for 5300).
