Kensington Launches First Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station with Impressive Features
TapTechNews September 18th news, the tech media cultofmac yesterday (September 17th) posted a blog reporting that Kensington has launched the SD5000T5EQ Thunderbolt 5 three-way 4K docking station, which is the first Thunderbolt 5 docking station to obtain Intel certification.
The SD5000T5 is designed specifically for professionals and content creators, equipped with 11 ports and provides a data transfer speed of up to 120 Gbps (15,000 MBps).

Intel launched Thunderbolt 5 last year, and the first batch of devices supporting this technology have just begun to enter the market. For example, OWC has recently launched a Thunderbolt 5 SSD.
One of the important reasons why these peripherals haven't entered the market immediately is that there aren't many devices that support Thunderbolt 5.
Apple currently has no products supporting this standard, but the media expects that the Mac computers with the M4 processor to be launched this autumn and in 2025 may support it.

According to TapTechNews citing the official introduction, the SD5000T5 achieves a faster data transfer speed of up to 80 Gbps, and the bandwidth enhancement function provides the speed of up to 120 Gbps required for video-intensive applications.
The SD5000T5 supports up to three 4K@144Hz monitors or two 8K@60Hz monitors, providing uncompromised visual quality and smooth multitasking capabilities for high-performance workspaces.
