TapTechNews June 18th news, the open-source PS3 emulator, RPCS3, which has a history of more than 13 years, has significantly optimized the performance of low-end processors in the latest v0.0.32-16614 version.

According to the introduction, this optimization is implemented by the SPU optimization (TapTechNews note: PS3's Cell processor adopts a PPU+SPU heterogeneous architecture, and SPU can share part of the GPU functions) submitted by the developer elad335 and has been enabled since the v0.0.32-16614 version.

The official used a 4-core 4-thread processor for testing. Compared with the 0.0.32-16611 version without optimization:

Frame rate of 'Demon's Souls' increased from 37.98 to 76.36, an increase of 101%, the SPU occupancy rate decreased significantly, and the frame generation time stability improved.

The frame rate of 'Persona 5' increased from 25.02 to 32.59, an increase of 30%.
