According to the live broadcast screen of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Dragon spacecraft was launched into the air at 1:17 PM Eastern US time on the 28th (TapTechNews note: 1:17 AM Beijing time on the 29th) by the Falcon 9 rocket from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida. After the launch, the spacecraft separated smoothly from the rocket and continued to head for the International Space Station. The first stage of the rocket also successfully landed and recovered at the launch site. According to the plan, the spacecraft will dock with the International Space Station at 5:30 PM Eastern US time on the 29th (1:30 AM Beijing time on the 30th).

This mission is code-named Crew-9, which is the ninth astronaut rotation mission of the manned Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station. The astronauts of this mission include Nick Hague of the United States and Alexander Golubnov of Russia. According to the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the two astronauts will conduct more than 200 scientific experiments and technical demonstrations on the space station, including blood clotting research, the impact of humidity on the growth of plants in the space environment, and changes in the eyesight of astronauts.

According to the plan, the Dragon spacecraft will return to Earth in February next year. At that time, in addition to carrying the two astronauts of this mission, it will also pick up the two American astronauts who have been stranded at the space station due to the failure of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.

The Dragon spacecraft is the first manned spacecraft in the United States built by a private enterprise and transporting astronauts to and from the space station, and it is also the first manned spacecraft that has obtained the certification of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration for regular transportation of astronauts to and from the space station since the retirement of the US space shuttle.
