TapTechNews May 20th news, the TecLab & PauloGomes team modified the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics card and replaced it with a more powerful video memory module, making its performance exceed that of the RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card.
Behind PauloGomes is the 'ponsor' Manli, while TecLab is sponsored by Galax. The two are in a competitive relationship, and in the latest attempt to see who can push the performance of the RTX 4070 Ti Super graphics card higher with the help of a memory modifier.
These modifications require not only desoldering and resoldering the VRAM chips on the graphics card PCB, but also software support for faster video memory chips.
In the competition, the TecLab team used the Galax GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics card, while the PauloGomes team used the Manli GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics card.
The two teams replaced the 21 Gbps video memory module (161-0479-900) with the 24 Gbps video memory module (161-0480-900) for overclocking. TapTechNews note: This modification requires professional soldering skills, as well as the correct tools and information about the PCB and BIOS to proceed smoothly.
The final results are as follows:
GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (OC 26 Gbps) - 9133 points
Manli GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (OC 24 Gbps) - 8870 points
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER (Stock) - 8736 points
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (Stock) - 8525 points
Manli GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (Stock) - 7212 points
GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (Stock) - 7028 points
Judging from the results, by replacing the video memory module and increasing the clock speed, the performance can be improved by 20-30%.
