Softstar's 'Xuan Yuan Jian III Beyond the Clouds and Mountains' Switch Version Releases Earlier, with Game Details
TapTechNews August 26th news, the classic game of the轩辕剑 series of Softstar, Xuan Yuan Jian III: Beyond the Clouds and Mountains Switch version announced a reverse postponement, advancing the release from the original December 8th to December 4th. The physical version of the game sells for HK$368 (TapTechNews note: currently about 337 RMB), and the digital version has not yet been listed on the Nintendo eShop.
TapTechNews learned that Xuan Yuan Jian III: Beyond the Clouds and Mountains has been launched on Steam last July 26th, and the price in the Chinese mainland is 49 RMB. As of the time of writing, the game has an 81% favorable rating of Extremely Positive.
According to the introduction, Xuan Yuan Jian III: Beyond the Clouds and Mountains inherits the beautiful traditional Chinese painting style of the series. The story takes place in a period of cultural collision between the East and the West, and many major world historical events such as the Battle of Talas, the Arab Revolution, and the An Shi Rebellion are interspersed in the plot.
The game spans the entire Eurasian continent and runs through three civilizations of Frank, Arabia, and China, combining the historical stage with Chinese and Western myths. Players will not only encounter enemies with strong historical and regional characteristics such as Merovingian soldiers, Venetian sailors, Black-robed Arabs, Tang Dynasty soldiers, and Taoists, but also encounter fantastic creatures in Chinese and Western myths such as centaurs, Medusa, Black and White Impermanence, and the Nine Heavens Goddess.
This game won three awards including Best Art, Best Music, and Player's Choice Best Game at the 3rd Player Game Awards. It has been highly praised by players for more than twenty years and is one of the most popular Chinese games.
