BYD's First PHEV Model Enters UK Market

TapTechNews June 12th news, BYD's first PHEV plug-in hybrid model entering the UK market - BYD Seal U DM-i has now begun to accept reservations and will officially go on sale in September. The pre-sale price of the front-wheel drive model is £33,205 (TapTechNews note: currently about 307,000 RMB), and the all-wheel drive model is £39,905 (currently about 369,000 RMB).

BYD Seal U is the BYD Song PLUS DM-i sold in China, with dimensions of 47.75 inches * 18.9 inches * 16.7 inches (length * width * height) and a wheelbase of 276.5 inches, and it has a trunk capacity of 552 liters.

The pure electric version of BYD Seal U is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery of 71/87 kWh, and the plug-in hybrid version BYD Seal U DM-i model is equipped with a 18.3 kWh battery. At the same time, it is also equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 106 horsepower, a 194-horsepower electric motor and a CVT transmission, which can provide a pure electric range of approximately 109 kilometers.

This model represents the next stage of BYD's expansion in Europe. Previously, BYD has launched BYD ATTO 3 (Yuan PLUS) and BYD Dolphin.
