According to Variety, when Spielberg was talking about an early film of his, the Apple Watch on his wrist suddenly issued an alarm and showed a fall warning. He should have simply clicked the "X" button on the screen to cancel it. However, Spielberg was in a hurry to continue his speech, so he took off the watch and put it on the ground.

It was reported that Spielberg said to the audience at that time, "I won't press that emergency call button (SOS), and I'll pick it up later." But because the watch didn't receive a response from the wearer, it started a countdown to prepare to automatically dial the emergency services. Realizing that the situation was not right, Spielberg quickly picked up the watch and cancelled the alarm.

According to TapTechNews, Apple's AppleWatch has added the fall detection function since Series 4, aiming to help users who cannot move after a fall to get assistance in time. This function has also successfully helped users contact rescue personnel in time after accidents many times before. However, when the watch detects that the wearer suddenly stops after moving rapidly, it may also misjudge it as a fall, for example, such false alarms may occur when riding a roller coaster or skiing. Although Apple has been constantly trying to reduce the occurrence of false alarms, this function still "makes trouble" occasionally.
