In addition to relying more and more on manufacturers in the Chinese mainland, Samsung is also cooperating with manufacturers in Southeast Asia. Foreign media disclosed that Samsung plans to outsource the 28 million mobile phone manufacturing business to factories in Vietnam.

TapTechNews noted that Samsung began to outsource part of the smart phone production business since 2019 to reduce the manufacturing/transportation price, but Samsung usually only relies on this production strategy to manufacture mid-to-low-end mobile phones.

Also referring to the previous report, the number of smart phones and tablets produced by Samsung in the first quarter of 2024 exceeded its target at the beginning of the year by 22%. As of March, the company has produced a total of 64.5 million smart phones and tablets this year.
