Meituan's Responses to High Temperatures in China

TapTechNews June 13th - As of June 13th, the Central Meteorological Observatory has continuously issued a high-temperature warning for 7 days, and many places across the country have experienced high temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Meituan officially announced that the anti-scald seat cushions of Meituan e-bikes are being gradually launched nationwide and can reduce the temperature by more than 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit).

In addition, on June 12th, Meituan carried out heatstroke prevention and cooling guarantee work for riders across the country, and cooperated with catering and retail merchants to provide riders with discounted cool meals and free cold drinks. In response to the problem that riders reported high power consumption of mobile phones in summer, Meituan Power Bank launched a free use of power bank activity in more than 80 cities nationwide, and Meituan riders can use the power bank for free when borrowing and returning at the designated points.

Under special weather conditions, Meituan's delivery guarantee special team will start the emergency mechanism to provide riders with delivery compensation time, eliminate bad reviews caused by the weather, and simultaneously adjust the delivery radius dynamically to reduce the time riders are exposed outdoors.

TapTechNews noticed that the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue an orange high-temperature warning at 06:00 on June 13th, suggesting to avoid outdoor activities as much as possible during high-temperature periods.

It is expected that from June 13th to 15th, there will be high-temperature weather in most of North China, Huanghuai, northern Shaanxi, central and southern Shanxi, northern Jiangsu and Anhui, northern Hubei, and the western and southeastern Inner Mongolia, and the southern Xinjiang Basin, etc. Among them, some areas in central and southern Hebei, northwestern Shandong, and central and northern Henan can reach above 40-42 degrees Celsius (104-107.6 degrees Fahrenheit).
