Chery to Recall 3037 Tiggo 5x Cars in the US

TapTechNews June 21 - Recently, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Recalled Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recalled Defective Automobile Products. It decides to recall some Chery Tiggo 5x cars produced from August 22, 2023 to October 30, 2023 starting from June 21, 2024, a total of 3037 units.

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to reasons of welding equipment, the rear axle trailing arm and the sleeve may not be firmly welded, and in extreme cases, the welding point between the rear axle trailing arm and the sleeve may separate, resulting in wheel out of control, posing a safety hazard.

TapTechNews has learned from the announcement that Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. will conduct a free check on the production date code of the rear axle for the vehicles within the scope of the recall, and if they belong to the defective batch, then the rear axle will be replaced for free to eliminate potential safety hazards.
