Meta Quest Headset Gets New Update with Similar Feature to Apple VisionPro

TapTechNews July 16th news, those who have experienced the Apple VisionPro headset might remember that this headset has a Ambient Light Adjustment feature, when users are watching photos/videos, the surrounding environment background will automatically darken to enhance the audio-visual experience.

And today Meta begins to push the v68 system software update for the Quest series headsets, the biggest improvement of this update is to introduce the same ambient light adjustment feature for the Quest3 headset, and also add a new controller and hand icon.

TapTechNews learned from the videos shared by Reddit users that users can now notice that the surrounding environment will automatically darken when playing videos in the passthrough mode, and a panel will pop up below the video screen, this panel allows users to quickly switch the video size, set the VR video format, and infinitely adjust the ambient light.

Meta has made several rounds of improvements to its Quest3 headset recently. In the previous version (v67), Meta brought the multi-window interaction function to the headset; and in the v66 version, Meta focused on improving the distortion of the picture in the passthrough mode of the headset.

Meta released the Quest3 headset in September last year, equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen2 chip and Pancake lenses, and supports the color passthrough function, priced at $499.99 ( IT Home note: currently about $3635 yuan).
