Shenyang's First Hydrogen Refueling Station Starts Operation, BMW Leads in Green Logistics
TapTechNews September 30th news, Shenyang's first hydrogen refueling station officially started operation on September 27th, and Brilliance BMW became the first user of this hydrogen refueling station, also meaning that Brilliance BMW became the first domestic automaker to use green hydrogen fuel trucks for logistics transportation.
Previously, the BMW Group announced that it will launch the first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCEV) for the market in 2028, becoming the world's first high-end automaker to launch a mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.
According to the official introduction of BMW, green hydrogen fuel trucks have very significant advantages in logistics transportation. They have a long cruising range, fast refueling, light weight, and are hardly affected by the ambient temperature. The most important thing is that green hydrogen trucks can achieve zero emissions and are more sustainable.
Since 2018, the BMW Shenyang production base has started to use liquefied natural gas trucks, and pure electric trucks were enabled in 2022. Until the green hydrogen fuel trucks started trial operation at the end of June this year, every step is a firm measure to actively explore green logistics.
At the same time, China Huadian adopts the technology of large-capacity wind power off-grid hydrogen production integration to produce hydrogen, which can realize large-scale green hydrogen production and provide a green hydrogen source for the completion of the hydrogen refueling station. On this basis, the Shenyang Municipal Government and the Dadong District Government promoted the joint construction of the hydrogen refueling station by PetroChina Green Energy, achieving a breakthrough from scratch and helping to build the Northern Hydrogen Capital.
TapTechNews found that in the first half of this year, the production and sales data of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in China were 2773 and 2644 respectively, increasing by 11.1% and 9.7% respectively, both ranking first in the world.
