Microsoft Updates Cocreator in Paint with New Details
TapTechNews, June 12 - Last year, Microsoft added an AI feature called Cocreator to its Paint application, which can generate the desired image for users by using the content on the canvas and text prompts. Microsoft now updates Cocreator support files and reveals more details.
According to Microsoft, not all Windows users can get this new AI feature, because there is a threshold limit on the hardware side. At least a Copilot+PC (AIPC) with an NPU that can provide 40 TOPS or more computing power is required to use it, which means that users need to spend at least 1099 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 7984 RMB) to buy the just-released Snapdragon X model.
Microsoft said: This function can generate images locally on your PC by using NPU. There is no limit to the number of images that can be generated, but if you want to use Cocreator, you also need to log in with a Microsoft account and connect to the Internet to access the cloud service to ensure safe use of the AI.
Using Cocreator
If you want to use Cocreator, you need Copilot+ computer that Microsoft announced this spring. You also need to update the Microsoft Paint application to the latest version available in the Microsoft Store. Then, follow these steps:
Open Microsoft Paint and select the Cocreator icon on the toolbar to view the side pane.
Enter a text prompt in the box. For example, you can type a cat in the garden or a spaceship in the sky. Describe the elements in the drawing as much as possible.
Start drawing on the canvas with a mouse or stylus. You can use any tool or color you want. For the best results, use the required colors, wider brushstrokes, and fill the canvas as much as possible in the output.
While drawing, you will see the AI generating illustrations in the side pane based on the text and sketch.
Adjust the creativity level by moving the slider. Lower creativity means less AI input, and the output will be closer to your sketch. Higher creativity means more AI input and the output will be more imaginative and diverse.
Select the style option from the dropdown menu. You can choose art styles such as watercolor and oil painting to customize the art piece you create.
If you are satisfied with the illustration, simply click on the generated image in the side pane to apply it to the Paint canvas. You can continue to edit or save it.
