The Hayi High-speed Railway is the high-speed railway with the highest latitude under construction in China, the largest temperature difference throughout the year in the area where the whole line is located, and the first to pass through the permafrost area of many years' island shape. It starts from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, passes through Suihua City, and ends in Yichun City. The main line is 318 kilometers long and the designed speed is 250 kilometers per hour. In addition, this high-speed railway is the extension line of the Beijing-Harbin-Beijing-Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passage of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. The Hayi High-speed Railway has 9 stations along the whole line, namely Harbin, Harbin North, Hulan North, Xinglongzhen West, Suihua South, Qinganan South, Tieli, Riyuexia, and Yichun West.

After the full-line completion and opening to traffic of the Hayi High-speed Railway, it will greatly shorten the time and space distance among the major urban agglomerations along the line. The running time of the passenger train from Harbin to Yichun will be shortened from the current about 7 hours to about 2 hours, forming a "one-hour and two-hour traffic circle" centered around Harbin.
