TapTechNews August 25th news, the Interim Provisions on Radio Management of Wireless Charging (Power Transmission) Equipment will come into effect on September 1, 2024.

From the date of implementation, the production or import of wireless charging equipment that does not meet the required regulations for sale and use in the country will be stopped. Before this, the wireless charging equipment produced or imported can continue to be sold and used until it is scrapped.

The fourth regulation stipulates that the working frequency range of mobile and portable wireless charging equipment is 100-148.5 kHz, 6765-6795 kHz, 13553-13567 kHz frequency band, and the rated transmission power does not exceed 80 watts.

However, the frequency used by MagSafe and Qi2 protocols is 360 kHz, which is not within the regulated working frequency range. When replying to a netizen's message, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the 325-405 kHz frequency band is divided for aeronautical radio navigation services, and this frequency band cannot be used for wireless charging equipment in China. If it does not meet the required regulations, from the date of implementation of the regulations, it cannot be produced or imported for sale and use in the country.
