Tesla Seems to develop assisted driving for Semi truck

According to TapTechNews on June 29, Tesla seems to be doing some early development work on the driving assistance system of its Semi truck.

Someone on Reddit encountered a rather unique Tesla Semi electric truck near the Nevada Super Factory and said it was rather unique because it was equipped with a very conspicuous sensor suite on the roof, which looked similar to the LiDAR laser radar set on some of Tesla's previous test vehicles.

Of course, although Elon Musk once claimed that its mass-produced vehicles would not use LiDAR laser radar, Tesla still uses LiDAR equipment when developing an assisted driving system for a new model to collect information and verify the visual data of test vehicles, so this is not contradictory.

A previous patent published by Tesla also pointed out that training data could be collected with the help of auxiliary sensors such as radar, LiDAR, or other sensors and then used to train machine learning models.

Considering this, Tesla is currently supposed to be doing some early development work on the assisted driving function of its Semi truck, after all, the Tesla Semi is not yet equipped with Autopilot or FSD.

However, TapTechNews noticed that in the introduction of this electric truck on Tesla's official website, it is mentioned that it has been equipped with active safety features, combined with an advanced motor and braking control system, which can provide traction and stability in any situation.
