Apple Wins Class-Action Lawsuit in US, Faces Similar Situation in India

TapTechNews July 13, according to Reuters, Apple has won a class-action lawsuit victory in the US. The relevant lawsuit claimed that Apple strictly restricts third-party applications to close the ecosystem, resulting in "the price of iPhone rising and causing a monopoly".

And Apple responded that "they did not artificially raise the price of iPhone through a closed ecological environment, and the pricing of iPhone is the result based on 'competitiveness'".

TapTechNews learned that this case was heard by Judge Richard Seeborg, and the judge stood on Apple's side, believing that it did not cause a monopoly.

However, Apple also faces a similar lawsuit in India. Referring to the previous report, the Indian antitrust agency also believes that Apple has used its "dominant position" in the iOS system AppStore to engage in abusive behavior, violating the Indian Competition Act. If it is finally determined to be illegal, Apple may be fined and adjust its business behavior.
