0patch to Take Over and Provide Security Patches for Windows 10 After Microsoft's Termination

TapTechNews Jun 28th news, 0patch company announced today that after Microsoft ended the support of Windows 10 system, it will take over and provide an additional 5-year security patch, further reducing the impact of Windows 10 termination on users.

0patch is a company dedicated to providing security updates for expired products. Currently, the company is still providing security patches for products such as Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Microsoft Office.

After Microsoft terminates the support of Windows 10 in October 2025, 0patch will seamlessly take over from Microsoft and continue to provide security patches for Windows 10 system.

After Windows 10 system terminates the support next year in October, users have two choices. One is to pay Microsoft to buy the Extended Security Plan (for 3 years, applicable to enterprise and home users), and the other is to do nothing and continue to use the operating system that is not supported for updates.

Like Microsoft's Extended Security Plan, 0patch's security patch service is not free either, but the company promises to provide longer support and can deploy patches faster (e.g. the DogWalk vulnerability was fixed two months earlier than Microsoft), fix vulnerabilities that manufacturers have not touched, and provide patches for non-Microsoft products.

0patch is subscribed on an annual basis, the price for each computer for individuals and small enterprises is 24.95 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 270 RMB). In addition, the company also provides enterprise-level services for medium and large enterprises, the price for each device is 34.95 euros (currently about 330 RMB).

Microsoft has not yet announced the price of the extended security update plan for home users. As a reference, for business customers, the ESU plan costs $61 per device per year (currently about 440 RMB).
