According to the introduction, State of Decay 3 is an open-world survival game set several years after a zombie apocalypse that nearly wiped out humanity. The evolving zombie threat continues to encroach on this land, and you need to carve out a way and build a survival home.

Similar to the previous two installments, the time flow in the game is parallel to real life, and various choices made by players will affect the events and plot development in the game. If a community member of the player unfortunately gets trapped in a zombie horde, then this character and their skills will be lost forever.

In terms of the multiplayer mode, this game supports a maximum of 4 players. Players can start to build a community from scratch with friends in a persistent shared world, and build, develop, and expand a base according to their own designs and decisions.
