The World's First Xiangshan Notebook Released in China

According to the official introduction of Milk-V, the Ru Yi Xiangshan Notebook is jointly developed by the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences leading, with the participation of Qunxin Shining Technology, Yingqi Intelligence, and Beijing Open Core Institute. It is the world's first notebook equipped with the Xiangshan Nanhu processor.

The Ru Yi Xiangshan Notebook is equipped with the Xiangshan Nanhu processor with a maximum of 2.5 GHz, and the memory uses 8 GB DDR5.

In terms of display, it uses a 14-inch high-definition LCD screen. An AMD RX550 independent graphics card is integrated in the notebook, supporting dual-screen different display.

In terms of interfaces, it provides 2 USB 3 interfaces and 2 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, and is also equipped with a touchpad that supports 9 gesture operations.

The internal structure of the Ru Yi Xiangshan Notebook was also demonstrated at the scene, and the Xiangshan Nanhu notebook security challenge was announced. Taking the Ru Yi Xiangshan Nanhu notebook as the physical test object, attempts are made to explore the possible security vulnerabilities of the Xiangshan IP, and the initial bonus pool is 50,000 Chinese yuan.

TapTechNews note: Xiangshan names each generation of architecture with a lake - the first-generation architecture is Yanqi Lake, the second-generation architecture is Nanhu, and the third-generation architecture is Kunming Lake.

The second-generation Xiangshan processor (Nanhu architecture) supports the RV64GCBK instruction set. The V1 version is for dual-core scenarios. The RTL code freeze was completed in February 2023, the GDSII freeze was completed in June 2023, and it was taped out in November 2023, reaching a frequency of 2 GHz at the 14 nm process node. In August 24, 2022, the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute, Tencent, Ali, ZTE, Zhongke Chuangda, Yisiwei, and Suanneng formed a joint R & D team to carry out the joint development of the third-generation Xiangshan (Kunming Lake architecture).

At the opening ceremony of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference in April this year, the third-generation Xiangshan RISC-V open source high-performance processor core debuted, and its performance entered the global first echelon.
