Smartphone Shipments in Latin America Growth and Market Dynamics in 2024

TapTechNews August 12th news, according to the latest Canalys report, in the second quarter of 2024, the smartphone shipments in the Latin American region reached 33.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 20%, achieving double-digit growth for four consecutive quarters.

It is reported that the continuous growth of the Latin American market this time benefits from the share of the price segment below $200 (TapTechNews note: currently about 1435 Chinese yuan) in the market reaching a new high since the second quarter of 2021.

Due to the promotion of the A series, Samsung continues to firmly hold the market leadership position, with a year-on-year increase of 9%, and the shipment volume increased to 10.2 million units.

Xiaomi ranked second in the Latin American market for the first time, with the shipment volume reaching 6.2 million units, a year-on-year increase of 35%. In addition, Xiaomi's shipment volume in this region set a historical record, breaking through the 6 million units mark for the first time.

Motorola ranked third with a shipment volume of 5.7 million units; Transsion and Honor ranked among the top five, with year-on-year growth of 52% and 47% respectively, and the shipment volumes were 3.2 million units and 1.7 million units respectively.
