Apple's iPhone 16 Series to Be Released on Schedule Despite AI Delays

TapTechNews August 4th news, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg revealed in the latest issue of PowerOn newsletter that although most of the AI functions of Apple company's AppleIntelligence have been delayed to the official version of iOS/ iPadOS 18.1 in October, but the iPhone 16 series phones will not be affected and will still be launched as scheduled in September.

In fact, Apple has a precedent of delaying the hardware release due to the software not being ready. In 2011, due to Siri and iCloud not being ready, Apple delayed the release time of the iPhone 4S to October. But now it seems that Apple will not delay the sale time of the iPhone 16 series phones because AppleIntelligence is not ready.

Apple pushed the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 developer preview version Beta update (internal version number: 22B5007p) to eligible iPhone and iPad users (Mac and iPad equipped with M1 chip or higher version, or iPhone 15Pro and iPhone 15ProMax) on July 30. The most important update of this version is to bring the preview of Apple's AI AppleIntelligence, but the new Siri is currently unavailable. Referring to the previous report of TapTechNews, Gurman claimed that the relevant functions are expected to go online in the spring of next year.
