Volkswagen Tayron XR Model Unveiled in China

TapTechNews June 13th news, in the newly released Batch 384 of the 'Notice of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products' of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Volkswagen Tayron XR model was revealed.

TapTechNews noticed that the styling of this new car is more closer to the newly released All-new Tiguan L PRO, rather than the current Volkswagen Tayron, presumably a new family-style design language. This car is equipped with split headlights and through-type taillights, has a roof rack, and adopts a hidden exhaust layout. This car can optionally choose three types of wheels, headlamps, radiator grilles, front bumpers, B-pillar trim panels, sunroofs and other configurations.

The declaration information shows that the size of this car is 4355/1762/1605 millimeters in length, width and height respectively and the wheelbase is 2651 millimeters. For reference, the Volkswagen Tayron has the dimensions of 4458/1841/1632 millimeters respectively, and the wheelbase is 2680 millimeters. Obviously, the size of the XR model is slightly smaller.

In terms of power, the Tayron XR provides two versions, a 1.5T engine (DSV) and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (DRZ), among which the maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 118 kilowatts; the maximum power of the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine is 81 kilowatts.

At present, Volkswagen has not disclosed the specific time for the Tayron XR model to be launched in the domestic market, and it is expected that it will not wait too long.
