The UAV performing this route has a maximum payload of 66.1 pounds and a maximum flight speed of 100 miles per hour. Compared to ship transportation, the one-way travel time of this logistics route can be reduced by nearly two hours.

In addition, in the future, this transport route will operate regularly, and different payload UAVs will be continuously introduced and used in formation flight to adapt to more cargo transportation scenarios.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, the 'Interim Regulations on the Flight Management of Unmanned Aircraft' has been implemented since January 1st, 2024. The regulations emphasize that UAVs must be registered under real names, and suitable flight airspaces have been divided for micro, light, and small UAVs. Flight in the suitable airspace with a true altitude of less than 400 feet can be freely flown without submitting a flight activity application. For the airspace with a true altitude of more than 400 feet, an application needs to be submitted to the air traffic control agency of the corresponding flight control sub-region.

In March this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China jointly issued the 'Implementation Plan for the Innovative Application of General Aviation Equipment (2024-2030)'.

Among them, it is proposed that by 2027, the supply capacity and industrial innovation ability of general aviation equipment in China will be significantly enhanced, the basic support system of modern general aviation will be basically established, an efficient integrated industrial ecosystem will be initially formed, and the general aviation public service equipment system will be basically perfected. New general aviation equipment with technical characteristics such as unmanned, electrified, and intelligent has achieved commercial applications in urban air transport, logistics distribution, emergency rescue and other fields.

With the introduction of multiple support policies, currently, unmanned aerial vehicle logistics routes have been successively opened in Shenzhen, Shanghai and other places, and companies such as Meituan and SF Express have opened unmanned aerial vehicle takeout/delivery services in some areas.
