Xiong'an New Area Hosts RISC-V Industry Development Conference with Multiple Initiatives
TapTechNews August 26th news, according to the official news of Xiong'an Release, on August 23rd, the Xiong'an New Area RISC-V Industry Development Exchange and Promotion Conference jointly organized by the Reform and Development Bureau of Xiong'an New Area, the RISC-V Working Committee of the China Electronics Standardization Institute, and China Mobile Internet of Things Co., Ltd. was held.
This event gathered more than 70 enterprises, industry associations, experts and scholars, etc. from the upstream and downstream of the RISC-V industrial chain, nearly 200 people in total, to jointly discuss the technical development trend and application promotion innovation of RISC-V.
At the meeting, the Xiong'an New Area Future Chip Innovation Research Institute and the China Mobile Smart Card Ecosystem Innovation Alliance - Xiong'an Zhixin Technology Laboratory were officially inaugurated. At the same time, the chip company under China Mobile, Xinsheng Technology, was officially inaugurated in Xiong'an New Area.

According to China Mobile, the open source RISC-V reduced instruction set architecture is advanced and easy to customize, and the ecosystem is in the early stage of development, creating an opportunity for China to grasp the development initiative of the chip industry in the era of the Internet of Everything.
The Xiong'an New Area Future Chip Innovation Research Institute was jointly established under the guidance of the Reform and Development Bureau of Xiong'an New Area, by the RISC-V Working Committee of the China Electronics Standardization Institute, Xinsheng Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing ESWIN Computing Technology Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. as the first batch of sponsoring units. The institute will carry out technical research and development, product testing, standard setting, evaluation and assessment, application demonstration, and cooperation and exchange based on the RISC-V open source instruction set to promote the high-quality development of the RISC-V industry in Xiong'an New Area.
The China Mobile Smart Card Ecosystem Innovation Alliance is an open organization established by China Mobile in cooperation with mobile smart card industry partners, aiming to carry out scientific and technological innovation and technical research, promote the transformation of achievements, and ensure the safety and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain. Liu Zhihua, the manager of the Purchasing Department III of China Mobile Group's Supply Chain Management Center, introduced that the alliance has set up the Xiong'an Zhixin Technology Laboratory, which will give full play to the advantages of the RISC-V extended instruction set and carry out key technical research on super SIM.
At the meeting, 15 representative enterprises such as Xinsheng Technology, Xiong'an Group Digital City Company, ESWIN, Semiconductor, and Bibo Semiconductor initiated the Common Initiative to Promote the Development of RISC-V Industry in Xiong'an. The initiative pointed out that with the Xiong'an New Area Future Chip Innovation Research Institute as the platform, it will gather RISC-V industrial elements to help realize the resource sharing and synergy among industries and promote technological breakthroughs and industrial development.
