Wistron to Invest Heavily in AI Server Expansion Globally

TapTechNews August 13th news, according to the Taiwan media Economic Daily News, Wistron held a board meeting yesterday and decided to invest more than NT$8.4 billion (currently about 1.859 billion yuan) to start the AI server expansion plan in Taiwan, China, the United States, Mexico and India.

Due to the growth of customer order demand, Wistron plans to invest NT$2.13 billion (TapTechNews note: currently about 471 million yuan) for the renovation of buildings in the Hukou factory and the acquisition of machinery and equipment, etc.

For the AI server demand of American customers, the board passed the motion to build a new factory in Mexico, and the subsidiary WistronInfoCommMexicoS.A.deC.V. plans to invest 81.112 million US dollars (currently about 582 million yuan) to build a factory.

Due to the development of after-sales service business, WTX, a North American after-sales repair service subsidiary wholly-owned by Wistron, plans to invest 72 million US dollars (currently about 517 million yuan) to acquire land and factories in Texas, the United States.

Wistron's 100% owned Indian subsidiary ICTServiceManagementSolutions(India)PrivateLimited plans to invest no more than 40.438 million US dollars (currently about 290 million yuan) in the budget to build a factory.

It is reported that Wistron is a main supplier of Nvidia and AMD artificial intelligence servers. It is expected that in 2024, Wistron's AI server performance will increase exponentially, and its proportion in the overall profit will reach 15% to 20%.
