July 2024 Programming Language Ranking Python Leads, Rust on the Rise

TapTechNews July 8th news, the TIOBE programming community index is an indicator to measure the popularity of programming languages, and the judgment basis comes from engineers, courses, suppliers and search engines worldwide. Today, the TIOBE official website announced the programming language ranking list in July 2024, which TapTechNews sorts out as follows:

Python ranks first: accounting for 16.12%, rising by 2.70% this month.

C++ ranks second: accounting for 10.34%, falling by 0.46% this month.

C ranks third: accounting for 9.48%, falling by 2.08% this month.

Java ranks fourth: accounting for 8.59%, falling by 1.91% this month.

C# ranks fifth: accounting for 6.72%, falling by 0.15% this month.

In addition to the top five, Rust language in the TIOBE index jumped from the 17th place to the 13th place this month. This is the highest ranking ever for Rust in the TIOBE ranking list.

TIOBE's CEO Paul Jansen claims that although the increase of 4 places may not seem like a big change, it indicates that Rust is finally starting to shine. Now the development speed of this language is getting faster and faster. The Rust community is constantly growing, including the number of third-party libraries and tools is also increasing. In short, Rust is getting ready to enter the top ten of the TIOBE index.
