Qualcomm's chief executive officer and president, Cristiano Amon, said in the company's fiscal third quarter 2024 earnings conference call: Looking forward to 2025, in addition to new designs, our X series product roadmap will extend to PCs with a price as low as 700 US dollars without sacrificing NPU performance.

Amon did not specifically say that the cheaper device will be a notebook computer, because Qualcomm's chips can also power small desktop computers (such as its 8-inch development kit). He only talked about the price.

Qualcomm has not yet announced any sales or financial data for the first wave of Snapdragon XElite and XPlus notebook computers, saying it is too early to draw a conclusion now, but confirming that we have already started working with OEMs on the next wave of CopilotPlusPC. Currently, the company only divides its product business into mobile phones, automobiles and the Internet of Things.

Amon said that more PC product announcements will be made at the IFA show starting in early September, and he believes that Qualcomm will become one of the main chip suppliers for future AIPC.

We expect PCs to be the next biggest driver for the company's diversification, he said, but he expects the business to be slow and steady as the market shifts. He said that some Snapdragon XPCs have already sold out.

Amon also said that the company has its own custom CPU, which will be announced at its Snapdragon Summit (held in late October) and will be launched in mobile phones at the end of this year or early 2025, and it will be part of the company's next-generation flagship Snapdragon 8 mobile phone chip.
