AMD Unveils New Processors at 2024 Taipei Computer Show

TapTechNews June 3rd, AMD announced a series of new processor products at the 2024 Taipei Computer Show today. The official commitment is that AM4 will be supported until 2025, and AM5 will be supported at least until 2027.

In addition to the most-watched AM5 Ryzen 9000 series processors, AMD also announced two new AM4 interface Ryzen 5000XT series products, namely the 16-core Ryzen 9 5900XT and the 8-core Ryzen 7 5800XT.

Both processors have a 4.8 GHz turbo frequency, a rated TDP of 105 watts, and are equipped with an RGB illuminated Wraith Prism cooler. 5800XT has 36MB (L2 + L3) cache, while 5900XT has 72MB of cache.

In terms of performance, AMD claims that 5900XT and 5800XT are on par with Intel's 13th-generation (Raptor Lake-S) Core i7-13700K(F) and i5-13600K(F) in gaming.

AMD has not yet announced the pricing of the new 5000XT processors and they are expected to be available in July. TapTechNews will follow up on the subsequent release information.
