Marvell Semiconductor's Q1 2025 Results Revenue Decline but AI Chip Business Surges

According to TapTechNews on May 31, Marvell Semiconductor disclosed its fiscal first quarter 2025 results ending on May 4 local time yesterday.

Marvell achieved $1.161 billion (TapTechNews note: currently about 8.417 billion Chinese yuan) in revenue last quarter, declining by 12% year-on-year and 16% quarter-on-quarter respectively.

In this quarter, Marvell's GAAP gross profit margin was 45.5%, with a GAAP net loss of $215.6 million, while achieving a non-GAAP net profit of $206.7 million.

The AI custom chip business of Marvell began to gain momentum, driving the quarterly revenue of the data center business to reach $816.4 million (currently about 5.919 billion Chinese yuan), surging by 87% year-on-year and also increasing by 7% quarter-on-quarter, accounting for 70% of the total.

However, Marvell witnessed varying degrees of revenue shrinkage in several other细分终端市场类别 - enterprise network, operator infrastructure, consumer electronics, automotive and industrial.

Marvell estimates that the revenue in the fiscal second quarter 2025 will increase to $1.24 billion (currently about 8.99 billion Chinese yuan), and the GAAP gross profit margin will rise to 46.2%.
