University of Science and Technology of China Hosts AI and Humanoid Robot Forum

TapTechNews June 18th news, this morning, the Frontier Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Humanoid Robots of University of Science and Technology of China was held in the High-tech Park of the school.

In the forum, the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and the Humanoid Robot Research Institute of University of Science and Technology of China were successively inaugurated. Academician Ding Han of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was hired as the director of the Science and Technology Committee of the Humanoid Robot Research Institute, and the Yangtze River Delta Humanoid Robot Alliance was announced to be established.

According to the official introduction, the Humanoid Robot Research Institute of USTC will give full play to the multidisciplinary cross-advantages of USTC and strive for technological breakthroughs in the directions of material sensing, structure driving, motion control, and embodied intelligence.

On the basis of technological innovation, the institute will actively promote the application of humanoid robots in the fields of service, medical care, education, etc., and will accelerate the industrialization process of scientific research achievements through cooperation with enterprises.

TapTechNews noticed that in April this year, USTC also integrated the school resources to establish the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. This school is a high-level talent training unit serving the frontier cross-theoretical and application research of artificial intelligence and data science.

The official said that the college is committed to building a world-class artificial intelligence and data science discipline, and establishing the corresponding 'cience-education coordination' undergraduate and graduate talent training system, which will carry out talent cultivation and scientific research around scientific intelligence, industrial intelligence, and embodied intelligence.
