Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Optional Update KB5039302 with New Bugs

TapTechNews on June 29th, Microsoft released the optional update KB5039302 for Windows 11 on Wednesday. After the installation by 22H2 users, the version number rises to Build 22621.3810, and for 23H2 users, it increases to Build 22631.3810.

This update brings a large number of new features, but at the same time, it also introduces some new bugs, such as the possibility that some virtual machines may not be able to start, mainly manifested as repeated restarts. In addition, Microsoft has just updated the official documentation and confirmed a new bug:

After installing the Windows preview update in June 2024 (KB5039302), you may encounter problems with the taskbar. This issue will only occur when you use a Windows N version device or when you turn off the 'Media Features' through Control Panel - Programs -> Programs and > Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off.

The Windows N version system includes the same functions as other versions of Windows, but excludes certain media-related technologies, Windows MediaPlayer, and some pre-installed media applications.

After installing the update, when you log in to the device, you may find that you cannot view or interact with the taskbar, but other applications such as File Explorer, the desktop, and Settings will function normally.

Similar to the virtual machine's infinite restart problem that TapTechNews reported a few days ago, Microsoft only says that 'it is working hard to find a solution and will provide an update in the subsequent released version' for this problem, but there seems to be no temporary solution.
