Huawei's Smart Selection Cars Profitability, Future Plans and Collaborations

He said that due to the strong sales of Smart Selection Cars, including the Wenjie and Zhijie, especially the great sales of Wenjie, it has achieved profitability in the first quarter of this year.

Yu Chengdong introduced that the name of the Smart Selection Car cooperated by Huawei and Jianghuai has not been determined yet, and the positioning is to be a million-dollar level, benchmarking far beyond the grade of Maybach and Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Regarding the distinction between different Smart Selection Cars, he explained that Jianghuai is positioned as super high-end, the Xiangjie is positioned as a high-end sedan, the Zhijie is positioned as a wide range of mid-range and upper mid-range, that is, a car that a wide range of people can afford, and the Wenjie mainly focuses on SUVs.

In March this year, the Anhui Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment publicized the Environmental Impact Report of the Jianghuai Annual Output of 200,000 Medium and High-End Intelligent Pure Electric Passenger Cars Construction Project, and the information shows that the factory is expected to produce 200,000 vehicles annually and invest 3.9805 billion yuan, and will develop Jianghuai's new energy-exclusive DE platform and the X6 platform empowered by Huawei's intelligent technology.

The project plans to produce 200,000 pure electric (including extended-range) passenger cars annually. The products are mainly medium and large-sized pure electric DE and X6 platform products, including C-class sedans, B-class sedans, A+-class SUVs, B-class SUVs and MPV models.

The DE pure electric platform is a new energy-exclusive platform, mainly meeting the needs of the domestic economic and improved markets. The products cover B-class sedans, C-class sedans, A+-class SUVs and B-class models. Among them, B-class sedans and A+-class SUVs target the base users and are mainly for first purchases; C-class sedans and B-class SUVs target upgraded users and are mainly for product progression.

The X6 pure electric platform is a luxury new energy platform, covering the medium and large-sized MPV model level. Through the empowerment of Huawei's intelligent technology, it actively seizes the domestic high-end market.

This document also lists the main parameters of the models of each platform, but there is only one MPV in the product plan based on the X6 platform, and the planned annual production capacity is 35,000 vehicles. In terms of detailed parameters, the car has a length of 5200mm and a wheelbase of 3200mm.

In additi on, the Jianghuai Automobile Group once announced in the New Year's message that it had started comprehensive strategic cooperation with Huawei in 2023, focusing on creating luxury intelligent connected electric vehicles, which are expected to be listed in 2025; cooperate with Volkswagen and the first product for export to Europe was officially mass-produced; signed a battery swap strategic cooperation agreement with NIO.

The news obtained by First Financial before is that the first model of the cooperation between the two parties is a million-dollar sedan, benchmarking against the BMW 7 Series, and is expected to be officially launched in the fourth quarter of this year. At that time, the construction work of the Anhui Feixi Super Factory responsible for producing the cooperative model between Huawei and Jianghuai Automobile was also nearing completion.

In December last year, Jianghuai Automobile and Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd. signed the Intelligent New Energy Automobile Cooperation Agreement. In the agreement, the two parties announced that given Huawei Terminal's successful experience in creating high-end products in the user field, Jianghuai Automobile will join forces with Huawei Terminal, with complementary strengths. The two parties will comprehensively cooperate based on Huawei's intelligent automobile solution, in product development, production and manufacturing, sales, services and other multiple fields, focusing on creating luxury intelligent connected electric vehicles.
