Google Pixel 9 Series to Ship with Android 14, Android 15 Expected Instead

TapTechNews August 1st news, the tech media AndroidHeadline published a blog post yesterday (July 31st), confirming from internal channels that the Google Pixel 9 series phones will ship with the Android 14 system out of the factory.

This is the first time in the history of Google Pixel phone releases. Usually, Pixel phones come with the latest version of Android. In theory, the Pixel 9 series should be pre-installed with the Android 15 system.

TapTechNews reported on July 30th that Google released the Android 15 Beta 4.1 update. The update is relatively small and mainly fixes the problem of audio crashing during calls on Pixel devices. Given the small size of this update, the outside world speculates that the official version of Android 15 may be launched soon.

Google usually releases new versions of Android between August and September:

Android 14: Released in October, postponed due to some errors to be fixed

Android 13: Released in August 2022

Android 12: Released in October 2021

Android 11: Released in September 2020

Android 10: Released in September 2019

The Pixel 9 series phones ship with the Android 14 system, but Google still promises to provide up to 7-year support, including PixelDrops, operating system updates, and security patches, which means these phones will be supported at least until August 2031.
