Google Unveils Text-to-Video Tool Veo at 2024 I/O Developer Conference

Thanks to the clue submitted by Mr. Aviation, a TapTechNews user! TapTechNews reported on May 15th that three months ago, OpenAI launched the text-to-video platform Sora, sparking wide discussions among netizens, media, and industry professionals. Google also unveiled a competing product called Veo during the 2024 I/O Developer Conference today, which can generate 'high-quality' videos exceeding 1 minute in length, with a resolution of up to 1080P, and featuring various visual and movie styles. According to Google's official press release, Veo has advanced natural language understanding capabilities, able to comprehend movie terms such as 'time-lapse photography' and 'aerial filming.' Users can provide text, images, or video prompts to guide their desired output. Google claims that videos produced this way are more coherent and realistic in the actions of people, animals, and objects throughout the entire shot. TapTechNews has provided a demo video below. Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis stated at Monday's media preview that the video results can be further refined with additional prompts. Google is exploring additional features to enable Veo to create storyboards and longer scenes.
