Microsoft Outlook Update Allows Direct Embedding of Videos in Emails

TapTechNews May 16th news, Microsoft announced today that it is inviting members of the Microsoft 365 Insider program to test the web version and Windows version of the Outlook application, mainly to support directly embedding Microsoft Stream videos in emails.

Microsoft stated that recipients do not need to leave their inbox to watch the embedded videos, this seamless integration will increase engagement and ensure that more employees within the organization see and understand the information conveyed in the emails.

The embedding process is also very simple, users just need to input a Stream sharing link in the email and it will be displayed in the email.

Microsoft mentioned that the new Outlook application will support embedding videos stored in OneDrive accounts.

If users do not want to display the video in the email and only want to show the link, they can right-click on the video name in the video player. Then click on the 'Link Style' and choose the 'Link' option to convert it to a link. TapTechNews provides a screenshot below:
