China's Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Update in July 2024

TapTechNews August 9th news, the China Charging Alliance released the operation situation of the national electric vehicle charging and swapping infrastructure in July 2024 today.

Data shows that in July, there were 88,000 more public charging piles than in June, with a year-on-year growth of 45.2%. As of July 2024, a total of 3.209 million public charging piles have been reported by the members of the alliance, including 1.431 million DC charging piles and 1.778 million AC charging piles. From August 2023 to July 2024, the average monthly increase in public charging piles is about 83,000.

Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong, Hubei, Henan, Anhui, Beijing, SichuanThe public charging piles built in the TOP10 regions account for 69.5%.

The national charging electricity is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, Fujian, Henan, Shaanxi and other provinces. The electricity flow is mainly for buses and passenger cars, and the proportion of other types of vehicles such as sanitation and logistics vehicles and taxis is relatively small.

In July 2024, the total national charging electricity was about 5.3 billion kWh, an increase of 740 million kWh compared to the previous month, with a year-on-year growth of 62.9% and a month-on-month growth of 16.3%.

As of July 2024, the operators of the TOP15 of the charging pile quantity account for 87.1% of the total, and the rest of the operators account for 12.9%, and these 15 are:

From January to July 2024, the increment of charging infrastructure is 2.008 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 16.8%. The domestic sales volume of new energy vehicles is 5.934 million units. The charging infrastructure and new energy vehicles continue to grow rapidly. The ratio of pile to vehicle increment is 1:3, and the construction of charging infrastructure can basically meet the rapid development of new energy vehicles.
