China's Express Delivery Industry Record-Breaking Volumes and Future Developments
TapTechNews August 13th news, data monitored by the State Post Bureau shows that as of August 13th, this year, China's express delivery business volume has exceeded 100 billion pieces, which is 71 days earlier than in 2023 to reach 100 billion pieces.
It is understood that the 1000th billion piece in 2024 is a blender, which will be sent from Urumqi, Xinjiang to Changji, and will be delivered by Cainiao Express, and is expected to arrive on August 14th.
The State Post Bureau said that since the beginning of this year, China's postal and express delivery industry has continued to develop rapidly, with both quantitative growth and qualitative improvement. The monthly average business volume exceeds 13 billion pieces, and the monthly average business income exceeds 100 billion yuan, both hitting historical highs.
TapTechNews noticed that 2024 is the tenth anniversary of the Express Delivery to Rural Areas project. In the past ten years, through projects such as Express Delivery to Rural Areas, Express Delivery to Villages, and One Village, One Station, the postal and express delivery industry has continuously promoted the sinking of the rural postal and express delivery network. The volume of received and delivered express items in rural areas has increased by more than 10 times in the past ten years. Especially in the central and western regions, county-level public delivery service centers, township standardized service outlets, and village-level comprehensive service stations for express delivery logistics and other county-town-village three-level infrastructure have been gradually improved, and rural delivery services are more rapid and accurate.
Up to now, China has cumulatively built more than 1,200 county-level public delivery service centers and more than 300,000 village-level comprehensive service stations for express delivery logistics, and has built a relatively complete rural delivery logistics system.
Relevant person in charge of the State Post Bureau disclosed that the next step will closely focus on promoting the high-quality development of the industry, cultivating and developing new productive forces according to local conditions, extending the digital and intelligent tentacles more fully to all links of receiving, transferring, transporting, and dispatching, and effectively improving the total factor production efficiency. Strengthen the construction of the delivery network, optimize the layout of the delivery hub around the construction of urban agglomerations, continue to promote the construction of the rural delivery logistics system, improve the international delivery service network, and continuously improve the internal and external connection capabilities. Continue to deepen industrial collaboration, promote the service chain to integrate with advanced manufacturing industries to better serve economic development.
