Intel's LunarLake Series Mobile Processors to Debut in September

TapTechNews August 5th news, Intel's LunarLake series mobile processors will be officially launched on September 3rd. Although it is not yet clear about the specific number of SKUs and available laptops, Intel is preparing at least 9 models, which belong to the Core Ultra9, Ultra7 and Ultra5 series respectively.

The new MSI Prestige13 laptop appeared in Geekbench today, and a Core Ultra5 228V processor was exposed for the first time.

This processor has an 8-core CPU with a turbo frequency of 4.5 GHz (actually 4485 MHz) and is equipped with 32GB of memory. The CPU scored 2585 points in the single-core test and 10053 points in the multi-core test. Although it belongs to the 17W series, its single-core跑分 (running score) is already better than that of the 54W Core Ultra9 185H (MeteorLake).

Core Ultra5 228V is expected to be the second-to-last specification product in the new series, and there is also a Ultra5 226V with basically similar specifications, and the memory is reduced to 16GB.

TapTechNews noticed that the main difference between Core Ultra9 and Ultra7 is TDP and CPU frequency. Core Ultra9 adopts a 30W PL1 TDP, while Ultra7 defaults to a 17W PL1.

The difference between Ultra7 and Ultra5 mainly lies in the core display. Ultra5 has 7 Xe2 cores, while Ultra7 has 8 cores.
