The public account of Xichang Railway Police Online posted on September 29th, stating that it recently seized two cases of unauthorized drone flights at high-speed railway stations, reiterating that drone pilots are prohibited from flying drones for aerial photography along the railway line.

TapTechNews learned from the railway police announcement that at about 8 a.m. on September 21st, when the on-duty police at Emeishan Station was working, they found a man flying a drone at the entrance of the station, and then the police summoned the man to the Emei Station Police Station for investigation.

Upon investigation, the man surnamed Guo, when waiting for the train, he privately flew the drone in order to shoot the scenery, and the flying location was only 87 meters away from the high-speed railway power line. The Xichang Railway Police gave Guo a责令整改 (order to rectify) and imposed an administrative fine of 500 yuan.

On September 19th, when the on-duty police at Ganluo South Station was patrolling in the front square of the station, they found someone using a drone to shoot, and then immediately went forward to investigate.

Upon investigation, the drone pilot was Apin XX, who privately flew the drone without reporting in order to shoot the scenery of Ganluo South Station. In the end, according to the regulations, the Xichang Railway Police gave Apin XX a责令整改 (order to rectify) and imposed an administrative fine of 500 yuan.

The railway police remind the majority of passengers that drones, Kongming lanterns, etc. belong to low-altitude flying objects. Flying them within the no-fly range stipulated by the railway may pose a threat to the railway electrical facilities and equipment, affecting the safety of train operation and the personal safety of passengers, and the railway public security organs will severely crack down on related illegal behaviors.
