Since the OpenHarmony has been open source for more than three years, it has covered educational, financial, transportation, government affairs, medical, aviation and other industry products, and has become the fastest-growing open source operating system in the field of smart terminals.

In November 2023, the members of the OpenHarmony Project Group Ecological Committee reached an industrial consensus on jointly building a unified interconnection technology base, and then jointly established the 'Device Unified Interconnection Technology Standard Preparatory Group' in the first quarter of 2024 and initiated relevant standard research work.

The OpenHarmony Device Unified Interconnection Technology Standard provides a basic standard reference for forming unified interconnection and interoperability in the education, financial, transportation, government affairs, medical, aviation and other industries, and further promotes the development of the OpenHarmony ecosystem in the industry field.

The thing model is used to support the capacity characteristic modeling and expression of various devices in thousands of industries. It is the most core part in the interconnection technology. The design of the thing model in the OpenHarmony device unified interconnection technology standard defines three most basic principles, that is, universality, modularization and expandability.
