Leapmotor C16 SUV Official Launch, Features, and Future Plans
TapTechNews June 23rd news, the Leapmotor C16 SUV will officially go on sale on June 28th, and then deliveries will start in July (about 2,000 units), and mass deliveries will be in August (more than 5,000 units).
TapTechNews noted that on June 22nd, Zhu Jiangming, the founder and chairman of Leapmotor, said in the live broadcast that the Leapmotor C16 is a product suitable for business, home and socializing. The top-end model's price starts with '1' and will never exceed $200,000. In addition, Leapmotor's B-series models will be launched in 2025, focusing on the market of $100,000-$150,000. It is expected to continue to be equipped with lidar and advanced intelligent driving assistance functions, and in the future, it will form four series of products: A, B, C, and D. In July and the end of this year, Leapmotor will also conduct two relatively large OTA upgrades for the intelligent driving assistance system to unlock more intelligent driving functions.
The Leapmotor C16 provides six colors including Starlight Silver, Celestrial Purple, Skylight Gray, Pearl White, Metallic Black, and Jade Green. The body size is 16180 * 7537 * 6850mm (about 52.79 * 29.67 * 2.28 feet), and the wheelbase is 8950mm (about 2.94 feet). It is equipped with the NVIDIA Orin-X chip + lidar.
In the cockpit, the car provides three interior color schemes including Malt, Ruby Red, and Galaxy Purple. The seats adopt a 2+2+2 layout, and is equipped with a 14.6-inch 2.5K ultra-clear central control screen, a 15.6-inch high-definition rear entertainment screen, the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P intelligent cockpit, 21-speaker luxury audio, a large panoramic sunroof, three-zone independent air conditioning, and an electric tailgate, etc.
The Leapmotor C16 provides two versions: pure electric and extended-range. The pure electric model is equipped with an all-domain 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform. The fastest charging from 30% to 80% takes only 15 minutes. It is equipped with a 215kW drive motor and a 67kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The CLTC pure electric range is 520km. The extended-range version is equipped with a 28kWh battery and the CLTC pure electric range is 230km.
