In the vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the long-term friction between the front suspension spring and the sand and gravel accumulated on the shock absorber tray, the coating of the spring is damaged; after the coating is damaged, the spring rusts under the erosion of high salt and high humidity environment, and may break under the influence of long-term tensile and compressive stress. In extreme cases, the broken spring slips under the shock absorber tray, causing tire damage and affecting the normal driving of the vehicle, and there is a potential safety hazard.

This recall activity is carried out under the situation that the State Administration for Market Regulation initiates a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile Co., Ltd. will carry out protective treatment on the bottom ring of the front suspension spring of the vehicles within the recall range. If the front suspension spring has been broken, a new spring will be replaced and the bottom ring of the spring will be protected to eliminate potential safety hazards.
